An awning stops the sun in front of the glass
Internal blinds catch the heat once it is already inside. An awning blocks the sun before it reaches the glazing, so the room behind stays noticeably cooler — often the difference between using the terrace in the afternoon and giving up on it.

Terrace or balcony awning?
Semi-cassette terrace awning
The sensible middle ground. The fabric rolls up under a hood, the arms stay outside. Cheaper than a full cassette and still good protection. Projection of several metres shades the whole terrace.
Balcony awning
For flats. A lighter folding-arm design fixed to the wall or balcony ceiling. Shades the balcony and the room behind it — in summer it can noticeably drop the indoor temperature.
Crank or motor
By hand or by remote. Small awnings work fine on a crank. For wide terrace units we recommend a tubular motor with remote — a few seconds to extend. Somfy drives integrate with home automation.
Solution-dyed acrylic fabrics
They do not fade in the sun, reflect UV and are treated against water and dirt. Dozens of colours and patterns — plain, classic stripes and modern melanges.
A cooler house without air conditioning
The awning stops the sun in front of the glass rather than behind it. It is the natural companion to external roller shutters on the terrace side.
Wind and sun sensors
The automation retracts the awning in strong wind before gusts can damage the arms, and extends it on sunny days. The house manages its own shade while you are out.
Wall, ceiling or rafter mounting
We match the fixing to the building: load-bearing wall, slab, insulated facade (on spacers) or roof structure. Measurement and bracket selection included.
